We are pleased to announce that in 2026, from May 11th to 14th (3 days), the University of Toronto Faculty of Kinesiology and Physical Education will host the 10th International Conference on Qualitative Research in Sport and Exercise (QRSE2026).

​

Monday the 11th of May will host several qualitative workshop sessions at the University of Toronto’s Dalla Lana School of Public Health. Details of these will be announced at a later date.

​

Tuesday the 12th of May to Thursday the 14th of May will include presentations and symposia from delegates, the keynote presentations, and the Early Career Research award presentation. Conference activities will be hosted at the University of Toronto’s Hart House, with the exception of the poster presentation session which will take place in the evening on Tuesday May 12th at the Faculty of Kinesiology and Physical Education’s Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport. A detailed schedule will be available to delegates at a later date.

This conference aims to bring together students, early career researchers, professors and practitioners interested in qualitative research and the sport and exercise sciences. Past QRSE conferences have included submissions from the fields of sport and exercise psychology, sociology of sport, physical cultural studies, sport history, physical education, coaching, sports medicine, rehabilitation, health promotion, sport management, sports medicine, leisure studies, sport ecology, and sport policy.

QRSE2026 is an in-person conference. However, to be as inclusive and accessible as possible to our qualitative community, the conference committee is exploring the option of making recordings of the keynotes available on the QRSE website at a later date.
