About the conference

We are pleased to announce that in 2024, from 30 July to 1 August (3 days), the University of Bath Department for Health and the Centre for Qualitative will host the 9th International Conference on Qualitative Research in Sport and Exercise (QRSE2024).

Monday the 29th of July will host several qualitative workshop sessions. Details of these will be announced at a later date

This conference aims to bring together Students, Early Career Researchers, Professors and Practitioners interested in qualitative research and the sport and exercise sciences. We welcome those who have a passion for sport sociology, sport and exercise psychology, sports medicine, political science, sport policy, leisure studies, sport coaching, and more!

QRSE2024 is primarily an in-person conference. However, considering the current challenges of physical conference attendance, and to be as inclusive and accessible as possible to our qualitative community, we are offering a virtual delegate option.

As a virtual delegate, you will have access to the warm-up webinars, the ECR award presentation, and keynote presentations in real-time (only the ECR award and keynotes will be recorded and available to QRSEsoc members after the conference). It will not be possible to attend the poster session, oral presentations, or any of the social and ECR events as a virtual delegate.

There will also be a limited number of individual standard oral paper slots available for virtual delegates to present. It is not possible to submit a poster or symposium session abstract as a virtual delegate. Please indicate on the submission form that abstracts are to be considered for virtual presentations only.

We hope that the virtual delegate option will be attractive to people who cannot travel to attend the conference in person.
